Ode to Nemesis

The Universe destroys itself to Rebirth anew
And the Earth falls victim to It’s own Destruction
Every 26 million Years a phantom Star comes calling
From the Time when Dinosaurs lived and Pterodactyls flew.
Modern Man lives oblivious in a technological World
While an ancient Star sends Comets and Stars falling
Plummeting to Earth to kiss it with the veil of Sleep
Where Time and Motion and Memory are fleeting.
Oh mighty Nemesis, dark twin Sun, Reaper’s Shadow comes calling.
The Sun brings glorious Light each Dawn as Earth and Sun rotate
But from You, oh mighty Nemesis, only Darkness and Sleep await…..

Birth is the beginning of Creation that enters with Song
And Death is the Transformation to a Life mysterious.
While Nemesis brings the Sleep of forgetting in which all Slumber
Without the Dream of Waking or Remembering,
Being neither Birth or Beginning, or Death and Ending, but only Void
The greatness of Nothing bursts forth in the force of Wind and Noise
A tumultuous Ending to a glorious Planet’s Beguine.
Irony sings while a Bluebird lurks in the Shadow of darkest Light
Awaiting to sing the morning Song when Sun and Nemesis unite.
